Zhang Liang's Mala Tang's sale of fake "lamb meat" is not an isolated case. Zhang Liang's Mala Tang: Lax regulation bears the primary responsibility.

Jiangxi Morning News Reporter Zeng Wei, August 4th, Jiangxi Morning News reported the article "Internet Exposes Zhang Liang Mala Tang Lamb Detected as 'Pork and Duck', Headquarters: Franchisee Privately Purchased, Store Management Deficient." This report drew the attention of many internet users. However, on the same day the report was published, lamb sold at two other Zhang Liang Mala Tang stores was found to be "pork and duck."

The reporter saw in the video exposed by an internet short video blogger that the blogger once again went to two other Zhang Liang Mala Tang stores in Guangyang District, Langfang City, Hebei Province. After purchasing the "lamb" in the store for direct inspection, the "lamb" from these two stores was still found to contain "pork and duck" ingredients. What's puzzling is that the "problematic lamb" in these two stores disappeared after the blogger reported it to the local market regulatory department.

On August 7th, the reporter checked Zhang Liang Mala Tang's official Weibo account, and Zhang Liang Mala Tang released a statement at 12 o'clock noon. The statement said, "The recent problems related to Zhang Liang Mala Tang's stores have had a huge impact on society and consumers, and we deeply apologize. This incident has harmed consumer rights and interests and issued a warning about our management and operations of the franchise stores. As a catering franchisor, we bear the primary responsibility for the lax regulation that led to some franchise stores privately purchasing ingredients."

After the incident, Zhang Liang Mala Tang's headquarters immediately verified the details. The franchise store involved purchased a total of 20 catties of lamb rolls in three batches at 25 yuan per catty in July and sold them. According to the authoritative department's test report, the lamb rolls were found to contain pork. Since the store bought the inspection materials at the genuine lamb market price, there was no subjective intention to knowingly sell fake products, and they had voluntarily removed all privately purchased materials. Therefore, the punishment given to the store involved is to retain its franchise qualification and deduct all the deposit.

The reporter also called Zhang Liang Mala Tang's national customer service hotline to verify the matter further, but no one answered the phone, and a voice prompt said, "The number you have dialed is currently unable to answer. Please leave a message after the beep."

For this matter, the Jiangxi Morning News reporter will continue to pay close attention.
